Is not IMEI blocked. Is the phone you leased from us under the mobile equipment lease plan. Went and saw his replies which kind of fixed it up for me. He does a good job of explaining why. What are you talking about?

Check it before you post. All I had to do was give my membership number to TMobile. Well, I lucked out. Called yesterday however, and got switched with all migration fees waived. It is all because of T-Mobile.

Less competition means screwed customers. No one cares why, we just care that the price difference is now marginal. It will be nice to get better more reliable indoor service. My biggest trade off was giving up indoor service in more than a few location but that was okay bc at least at home with wifi I could always use a wifi app I have an iPhone so no T-Mobile wifi app was not a big deal considering the yearly savings on T-Mobile.

I became a big advocate for T-Mobile except when they did away with my soft cap of 10GB to 5GB and then forcing me to a simple choice plan. The unintended consequence was that the switch to simple choice forced me to use less than gig of data.

So plan did you choose on ATT when you switched? I use a lot of data usually about 10 to 15 GB a month, the other lines not so much. If youve worked for wireless carrier, youll know that this discount is manipulated by weak salesman as a tool to close a sale throught all carriers.

Yes this sucks for a lot of customers if you are that unhappy call and speak to customer loyalty. Or email executiveresponse Tmobile dot com. Been there, done that. You get the canned responses you read from leaked documents in the article.

Lets see if you are gutsy enough to follow this move ;. That position is wholly indefensible. You did bring up a good point though. It will happen I promise. All it takes is one weak link in the chain to break the connection.

Honestly, for all the hassle, misinformation by T-Mo care, and total lack of effort to keep me as a customer, it would take A LOT for me to ever leave again. It would take even more for me to leave for T-Mobile again.

Suffered through weak spots in coverage and data saturation in congested areas because of the price difference: Tired of going to conventions and community events and not able to get a connection that is saturated or weak and unreliable.

Spotty coverage and 2g speeds beyond city limits and missing out some handsets is one thing. But losing this discount is another. Time to research other alternatives but i have a feeling tmobile is still a good value, but paying more for tje same thing is not right.

Paying more for the same thing happens all the time. I never understood why people expect whatever cell plan they were on a decade ago to still be honored by their provider for the same price until forever.

Do you still make the same wage you made a decade ago? The cost for carriers have gone down in the last decade, so your argument is not apples to apples. What costs would those be? I suppose if a carrier was providing the same network technology today that it provided a decade ago, then you could do it more cheaply.

LTE networks operate at a significantly higher spectral efficiency than most advanced 3G infrastructures, reducing the cost per bit and delivering significantly more bandwidth per user.

In addition, the advent of Heterogeneous LTE networks HetNets — a mix of macro base stations with strategically located small base stations and Wi-Fi offload hotspots — is driving significantly higher bandwidth per user while enabling operators to better control CapEx and reduce OpEx.

Consumer prices have already come down a lot, too. And even that mid-range smartphone is worlds ahead of whatever candy bar you had in The problem is nobody wants a minute talk plan anymore.

That is cheaper than the past. You are comparing apples and oranges. I agree paying more for the same thing happens all the time…in certain markets. I do not think its hard to understand why some people expect their cell plan to be honored over time since that particular market has historically done just that.

Ever heard of grandfathered plans? Cell phone companies are known to practice that, not mcdonalds or gasoline stations. But they are different markets, in my opinion. If tmobile wants to increase profits, revenue, employee salaries, executive bonuses, i think they should continue to try to increase customers with uncarrier type moves, not something like this.

Besides, they did increase customers. Over 4 million in and that was before they started paying ETFs for switchers. I agree, apparently uncarrier promotions alone are not enough, therefore i think they are testing customer loyalty by doing away with these discounts, consequently raising some bills.

But to each their own. Compared to the other carriers, T-Mobile has very few corporate accounts. Maybe turning this into a benefit for corporate sales is the plan. Because often people had to do a 2 year contract extension to get that discount and some people are still under that extension, now with no discount.

What in my previous posts gave you the impression i am not bothered or upset by losing these discounts? If you are under contract and the terms are changing discount leaving you have the right to terminate the contract without penalty.

Read the small print on those inserts included with your bill, it will spell out that you have 30 days may vary on where you live to cancel your contract with no charge simply because they changed the contract.

You signing the contract, agreeing to the standard rate. The discount comes after the fact and is not contingent upon the contact. Meaning, that it can change at any time, T-Mobile in this case terminating the agreement they have with your employer.

Which T-Mobile has every right to do, just like your Employer can terminate the agreement with T-Mobile to offer their employees a discount. This happens a lot actually. You sign the contract first, discount is applied after the fact.

Untrue, I as many others stated had to sign a contract specifically to get the discount. In order to get the discount I had to agree to a 2 year agreement. For a much better network, I say take the plunge and go to Verizon.

I just noticed that also what tmobile going to say about that or just try and ignore that plan. Perhaps the big push in Tmobile was a setup for the Sprint take over. Now they might have run the company longterm. Am I the only one that beleives the Sprint take over would have been a good?

I think the Sprint and TMO need merge to be able to compete properly with the top two. And yes, TMO sees that this is no longer going to occur hence the changes we see now. I agree it will get less uncarrier day by day…. Folks promised to keep the price war going even if they merged.

TMobile has already given up on the price war. Well just my opinion. I feel that if the two merged they would be able to challenge top two via a price war. If what has been reported is true this is a really short notice for such a dramatic change to be implemented on April T-Mobile LTE works great when it's not congested but there were a couple of times at airports the download speed was horrible even when my phone was showing 4G LTE.

Their coverage is also not very consistent I had 0 data coverage at Orlando Convention Center…it was voice only via roaming at all times… Even worse, for people who are still on a 24 month contract, such price increase is really unfair.

I'd rather keep my old plan with MB data than subsidize people who use a lot of data. They were only profitable in Q1 but losses were piling up the other 3 quarters. This change is not a good sign. Look at the number of comments….

This is important to people especially T-Mobile customers who are usually more price-conscious to begin with. Most normal companies grandfather existing customers in. I have been receiving discount on our 4 lines for many years now.

I am not happy, but I understand why T-mobile is doing it. They have added so much value to my plan over the years including unlimited data while overseas and from this month unlimited international SMS.

Giving back the discount if this keep T-mobile healthy and better able to grow and acquire more spectrum, I am all for it. They separated out data and voice and did not give discount on the data part. T-mobile is still the best deal in town.

Why does everyone have to swallow the all you can eat model? The discount has been reduced a lot since they switched to the mobile share plans following T-Mobile to price based on data only. There were differences depending on which company you had your discount through.

Call the loyalty department and request a credit in the amount of your monthly discount multiplied by the number of months left on your EIP. This strategy will only preserve your savings for a set period.

Per the agent I just spoke to, the account holder does not have to be the employee. The rep you talked to is incorrect. The account owner is the only person that can get the discount. Unless something changes, we will find out soon.

If the agent was incorrect, they still offered the solution on a recorded interaction. In years past, my line was on an account held by a family member. More evidence that T-Mobile should just adopt a yearly employment verification policy instead of this drastic change.

That rep, nor their supervisor, has the power to put on a discount for a customer. They got all those subscribers to join and many of them bought a phone through T-Mobile and are still paying it off.

Seems pretty shady to me to just pull the rug out from under them after they may have just joined. Guess I switched just in time. Seriously, do a quick Google. If I somehow missed it, please someone paste the link for me.

Way to screw over your loyal costumers. So where did the money you saved before when you switched to Simple Choice Plans go? They raised my rates and just said we are still the cheapest out there and I apologize. T-Mo is now to the point, where it is no point being with them.

Its sad when Boost mobile looks more attractive than Tmobile now. Just playin…this stinks for you corporate folks. Seems like another step backwards along with recent Jump downgrade. Earn some posting history and then you can talk.

By the way, I was a rep for over 2 years for T-mobile. Kinda have a little better insight on some things than other people. Maybe not the most knowledge but more than most. Tmobile is not making money, thus wanting to rid of employer discount program.

But why are they removing all those who already signed up with the program? So I am very indifferent to this. I do wonder if this will slow down the momentum. I work for T-Mobile and I know a lot of the companies customers are price conscious and I feel like I get a chance to interact with the best deal hunters in the market lol.

Yet, some people are still unpleaseable. I feel the least T-Mobile could do is grandfather current customers who have corporate discounts. Secondly, how many of us will actually travel abroad or text. Why sick me and others like me to foot the bill for these so called features that we would probably never use?

We use on average about minutes a month combined. The extra cost of having unlimited minutes is irrelevant to us. Same goes for texting, where we are using about to messages a month. Data, on the other hand does vary, between 1.

Until then… consider me grandfathered in for my duration with T-Mobile. Like you and your wife, voice usage is coming down across the board. If they offered a minute option at a discount, most customers would switch to it, with no actual reduction in usage — costing the company lost revenue.

That, and it simplifies billing, eliminates bill surprises and reduces customer care calls. I used to receive loyalty discounts for being a long time customer. Any options for us? You say that T-Mobile has gotten rid of the pain points, but none of the points you listed affect me.

I never had a contract on T-Mobile. I never had conversations about overages on any of my features because I can manage my own usage. I always controlled my device upgrades. You say that some people are unpleasable, but I disagree with this.

T-Mobile has made many changes, but I would argue that they are changes that are designed to get attention more than anything else. You say that there is no activation fee, but people now have to pay for SIM cards in stores.

You mention that T-Mobile has a loyalty department. About 6 weeks ago I was told by a rep from loyalty that some the options they had or could do previously are not available anymore. The issue I was having with a line would have been taken care but now I had no options.

There are good changes that affect customers and bad ones. The customer has gotten some really good options but the company has to make changes for itself also. We may get more value but as pointed out by many people on this thread, some of values like international text messaging will never be used.

The discount is something that people who are on tighter budgets did use. This can actually create a pain point for some. I understand the points you are trying to make, but the bottom line is that in a few weeks time I will be paying MORE for exactly the same services that I receive at the moment.

The employee discount for our staff was part of the reason that I brought hundreds of lines to TM when I managed corporate relationships with several carriers. When it was unclear how this was going to proceed going into the weekend, I asked Legere and the T-Mobile media team THREE times for a straight answer — a simple yes or no — as to whether the discounts were being removed for existing customers.

While I got more than one response, they simply would not answer the question directly, preferring to blow the usual marketing smoke. They are rapidly losing all credibility with me. I talked to loyalty this morning when they opened at 6am eastern time.

Yes, because that make sense. You let your customer decode their own discount…. There is a grain of truth to that. The discount is on a sliding scale, depending on how many of your employees are on T-Mobile. I am tempted to switch to ATT where I get 5 bars in my house not 2.

They are starting to turn into Comcast — hurt the existing customer. I think Legere needs to help existing customers and not get new ones all the time. I work for a state government and will be taking advantage of this now.

Do you know how contradicting and dumb that sounds? Now I appreciate you cheerleading for a company that in general has been cool to deal with, but when they make a move like this that affects many, I think you should remove the blinders.

I agree it was a jerk move of you to mention, in not so many words, that you could care less for the discount. Hahaha only a douchebag makes a comment like yours. And your comment is worthless and dumb. So I was compelled to address the douchyness of your original comment.

Did that make you feel grown up, young lady? You got your big girl bra on now? Was this part of your debate homework? Go on line and make up the dumbest possible analogies [like a kid liking his ice cream… WTF is that? Somehow in that warp little head of yours you thought I was rubbing in the fact that I can get a corporate discount while others may loose theirs.

Nothing against females — that a fact. Had I known, I would have applied for it years ago. Why even bother with Tmobile anymore?? They treat you like a new customer, so there is no difference between anyone who has been with Tmo for 10yrs and stuck with them through all their BS, bad phones, and awful reception verses a new customer to Tmobile.

That always annoyed me. Why stay loyal when if you decide to split you know T-Mobile will always be there to give you a better deal as a new customer, at least that appears to be their new business model.

Well as far as a Nexus devices goes, google losses money on every sale bc they sell it at cost if not close to it. Nexus is still a bargain, but if you can afford to, be kind enough to have google take the hit by buying it from them.

Otherwise, buy it in installments from T-Mobile. Obviously you should get or keep whatever service works best for you. I more frequently face bad or weak 4G service and in some case not even 3G service. In any case, service is besides the point because most of us were okay with the trade off between cost and service when we were paying much less with T-Mobile after the discount.

Do you expect them to make carriers in other countries change their plans, too? Good luck with that. I spoke with a rep yesterday confirming that I will lose my discount and gave that website.

As a former tmobile employer that recently left due to all of these anti customer changes. This will be the beginning of the downfall of tmobile. I used to love tmobile and breathe it daily but slowly this company has become more and more like att.

There are no contracts to keep people and they are paying ETFs to get people. Folks will take the money to get out of ETF, then go elsewhere. Raising rates would have grandfathered most everyone.

This raises prices on the most number of people immediately. I currently work for T-Mobile in a call center and I think this is an idiot move and will cost the company a huge amount of customers. So much for going after the B2B market segment.

Like I said before, they will probably end up charging interest on the phones that are being financed. I would think that they would go this route. But nothing would surprise me at this point. No more university discount?!

Only certain sections of UW of Seattle are goverment funded and classified staff through the local union. First they got you switch to Tmobile, paying the ETF for you, now they cancel out all the discounts!!!! Great success for Tmobile in the bait and switch….

I traded some old dump flip phones. Yes they made me pay for three new devices but I bought the cheapest ones. Total eip I owe is only, bucks. So essentially, it IS a bait and switch. Not unless you are a military or government employee.

Existing discounts for everyone else are going, to be replaced — where qualified — by discounts on device purchases. We are being treated the same way as the new customers who signed up because you are paying them ETFs.

Benefiting new customers vs. Tenure should mean something to a company, and it should come with its own loyalty from the company that the company is shown from the customers. Both conversations you listed are issues with current customers getting screwed for no reason.

Sorry you got confused on this simple issue. Maybe you need to sit and think a little about this.. Why do you think existing customers want to be treated better…? Because of tenure and loyalty. Or a discussion about discounts? Customers want the lowest price — period.

They are loyal to their pocketbooks and that is all. Has anyone verified this? Nothing on twatter either. The corporate discount is to court users on a large scale from companies. I guess getting customers is worth more than holding on to them?

This actually just complicated wireless. It was never complicated to get a discount automatically taken out of your bill.. Even IF it were true, and they were simplifying things, they would only do it for those going forward.

Not remove discounts for current discount holders. Removing a grandfather clause complicates things A LOT. Except in that case, the complaint would be justified. You are paying big governments salary and then they get the discount, not you.

People used to get upset about government waste. The way I see it. It will help even more To help locking up bigger company deals now. What is Leger thinking? They have pretty decent unlocking policy, so thanks T-Mobile for being somewhat reasonable on that front.

From one savvy consumer me to a not very savvy consumer you — employment related discounts are common place. Hurt my feelings… On the internet. Can you stick to the topic? Tmo seems to ne becoming the un-customer, un-choice, and probably not the jump that they will like.

This is a move toward transparent pricing, similar to prepaid. The postpaid industry is not there yet, but pricing clarity will only help consumers. They should have eliminated corporate discounts when they started uncarrier last year and made clear pricing part of the plan.

You are describing JC Penney. Everything else says 5GB. I guess we will get the facts when I get the bill when I run over 5GB. Just like I was told I would get to keep my Corporate Discount on the new family plans. I specifically asked when I switched and not that will not be true!

Customers signing up after the 23rd? I do not see these moves as a good thing for T-Mobile. I wonder if he gets confused and replies to his own posts…. So you kept your current unlimited plans grandfathered and you can still move other phones to unlimited in the future.

For me, it is actually a worse plan. The data was only increased on the lower tiers. Data was increased on every plan. You will not be be able to get the old pricing for unlimited data — that ship has sailed.

You specifically asked when you switched. The jump in hot-spot for those on the old unlimited Just seems more negatives then positives currently. Anyone want to start a petition? In my opinion, there are two major concerns that need addressed: That both saves T-Mobile money and saves loyal customers money while creating an incentive to stay subscribed.

Someone would have to be willing to create one. There may be others. If something like this is to work, it needs to be clear, well-written, to the point, and signed by many. That would require forwarding it to friends, family, and sharing it on social media platforms and forums or blogs like Reddit, SlickDeals, and Howard Forums.

Like I said, if someone takes the time to create one, e-mail it to me and I will definitely sign it and share it. Also, since T-Mobile has been zealously trying to reimage their brand, now would also be a good time to e-mail editors and authors of popular tech sites and blogs to see if we can get them to run with a story about the company making some not-so-UNcarrier moves lately.

I have already sent a message to one of those sites. With every passing day without a response, I will send another to a different one. I am trying to do my part though. The link to the official announcement by Legere was working for me last night but not this morning.

An alternative would be to pull up a cached copy of the site from a Google search, which is what I had to resort to earlier. T-Mobile just became the JCPenney of wireless providers. Try to force customers into believing they are getting the best deal possible by removing all discounts.

Eventually customers do the math and realize that if they take the discounts offered by others, they end up at the same or lower price. What a shame, because I have promoted T-Mobile to a lot of people.

I hope they reverse this decision. Technically, some customers might be better off with the new plan. That makes absolutely no sense. If you have a simple choice plan right now, you can already have a corporate discount, so this is a fee increase no matter how you slice it.

Sorry, this still makes no sense. Only winner is TMobile shareholders…. The problem with this line of reasoning is threefold: Are we just playing with hypotheticals now? You know, that was pretty fun. There is a double standard there though, because some of us went into the EIP because we are receiving a corporate discount, and now we are stuck with the EIP with a higher bill.

Being that I was saving with my corporate discount I was budgeting which phone I could afford, for me, the Note 3. Anyone else feel like their in the Christmas Vacation movie where he is expecting his bonus for his new pool but instead is getting a certificate for jelly of the month club?

Are you the PR for John Legere? Tmobile gave above customer a price estimate of services at time of purchase of phones and then changed terms….. If tmobile is going to use their no contracts against their customers to change terms then tmobile will canabilze itself, alot of people moved to TMobile with the idea that they were trying to promote a more customer friendly network….

Of course T-Mobile was going to make the lack of contracts work in their favor. T-Mobile always make changes to what they charge and the features that they offer. In, the plans were changed to Classic and Value.

In, Simple Choice plans were introduced. You are entitled to your opinion as is everyone else, wrong or right. Additionally, TmoNews does not control Disqus which has proven time and time again not to be reliable. Comments will appear and disappear at will only to reappear at a later time.

The beauty of Uncarrier 1. If you are unhappy at any time, you can leave. Of course, you will have to pay the remaining balance of your EIP plan, but you are not locked in. The fact remains that a customer can pay what he owes and leave T-Mobile at any time.

He can pay directly out of pocket or sell the devices and use that money to pay the balance. And how did you not know that when making your phone selection? We can only hope but i think it would of been posted on April Fools Days…..

If they backtrack April Fools Day gives them the perfect out to reverse….. Do the math for a single line, BYO phone: T-Mobile 2 GB plan, no more discount: So that means we should just roll over and take a price increase?

So does this affect Goverment employee discounts? Seems you have to log into your own account to get the answer, or call. PantherLady do you work for TMobile? TMobile gave him a price with discount and then pulled back after said customer already bought and financed phones….

How does that have anything to do with personal responsibility to the customer? If anything TMobile has responsibility issues by failing to research their desired profitability margins before making the actual decision….

The Jump program is also a perfect example where they gave a service at said price and then realized they werent receiving what they wanted in compensation… You are telling someone they are unresponsible because they financed at a set monthly rate and then the company who financed customer product changed terms.

How is that not defending? Either were just idiots or the impression you believe your giving out isnt the impression your stating to have implied…. Just pay your phones off and leave, easy as that.
